Softball Recap: Saltillo Find Success

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Saturday. Saltillo walked away with a 6-3 win over Ripley. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Saltillo.

Meri Campbell Davis spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Saltillo let Chloe Skelton and Avery Little run wild. Skelton scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Little scored a run while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Little a new career-high in RBI (three).

Saltillo's victory bumped their record up to 2-3-1. As for Ripley, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Saltillo will head out on the road to face off against Center Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Saltillo is facing Center Hill at the right time seeing as Center Hill is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Ripley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tishomingo County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tishomingo County will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Ripley surely won't give up without a fight.
