Pekin has gone 8-2 against Canton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Dragons will challenge the Little Giants at 4:15 p.m. Pekin has now lost 13 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 1.

Pekin came up short against Normal University on Thursday, falling 12-1.

Pekin got a good showing from Perry Miller, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Miller a new career-low in walks (one).

On the hitting side, Mason Hanvey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Canton gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 5-2 win over Abingdon/Avon.

Canton's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Colin Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Dane Grzanich, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Canton's record is now 9-12. As for Pekin, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

Pekin skirted past Canton 2-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Little Giants turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
