Basketball Game Preview: Ridgefield Spudders vs. Hudson's Bay Eagles

The Ridgefield Spudders are taking a road trip to face off against the Hudson's Bay Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ridgefield has four straight victories, Hudson's Bay has 19 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Ridgefield beat R.A. Long 46-35.

Meanwhile, Hudson's Bay was beaten by Woodland 71-10 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while the Beavers are ranked 98th).

Ridgefield is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Hudson's Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 0-18.

Everything came up roses for Ridgefield against Hudson's Bay when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 67-5 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ridgefield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
