Baseball Game Preview: Bangor Rams vs. Gorham Rams

Bangor will square off against Gorham at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bangor comes in on five and Gorham on 14.

Bangor is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They beat Oxford Hills by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 13, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Gorham earned a 7-2 win over Noble on Tuesday.

Hunter Finck made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Miles Brenner was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Cooper Whitehead, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Bangor's record now sits at 16-3-1. As for Gorham, their record is now 18-2-1.

Bangor beat Gorham 10-6 in their previous meeting back in June of 2018. Will Bangor repeat their success, or does Gorham has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
