Basketball Recap: Medicine Valley Takes a Loss

Medicine Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Bertrand Vikings, falling 48-9. The game marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Remmi Stout and Oakley Stout, who each put up four points. Oakley also led the team in rebounds with 13.

Addison Andersen had a dynamite game for Bertrand, almost dropping a triple-double on 18 points, nine boards, and nine steals. Andersen has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Livia Philips, who posted 12 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Medicine Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Bertrand, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season.

Looking ahead, Medicine Valley will head out to square off against Maxwell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bertrand, they will be playing at home against Arapahoe at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th.
