Volleyball Recap: Ketcham Takes a Loss

Ketcham lost against John Jay back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Storm fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 3-2. The Storm have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Ketcham started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 19-25, 25-6, 25-20, 15-5.

Julia Martin paced Ketcham's offense, picking up 12 kills. Martin got some help from Jordan Carmichael and her nine assists. Carmichael was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Ketcham's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for John Jay, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Ketcham and John Jay will both be playing North Rockland the next time they take the court. The Patriots will host the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Storm will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
