Softball Game Preview: Canal Winchester Indians vs. Bishop Hartley Hawks

The Canal Winchester Indians will take on the Bishop Hartley Hawks at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Canal Winchester couldn't beat Marysville on Friday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. The Indians lost 17-6 to the Monarchs.

Kendal Mccrea made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was AriAnnA Jeffries, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Bishop Hartley came up short against Pickerington North on Thursday, falling 16-6.

Bishop Hartley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Thomas, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Diamond Johnson was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Bishop Hartley's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Canal Winchester, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Canal Winchester hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .377. However, it's not like Bishop Hartley struggles in that department as they've averaged .384. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
