Basketball Game Preview: Garinger Wildcats vs. Providence Panthers

Garinger is 0-9 against Providence since November of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Garinger Wildcats take on the Providence Panthers at 6:00 p.m.

Garinger is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Charlotte Catholic on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Garinger came up short against Charlotte Catholic, falling 59-38. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 532nd, while the Cougars are ranked 158th).

Providence fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 46-38 win over Rocky River on Thursday.

Garinger's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Providence, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.

Garinger came up short against Providence when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 51-40. Thankfully for Garinger, Lindsey Nolan (who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
