Volleyball Recap: West Holmes Takes a Loss

West Holmes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Orrville Red Riders. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Riders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

West Holmes was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-16.

Mallory Marmet paced West Holmes' offense, picking up six kills. Marmet got some help from Lena Burgett and her 12 assists. Harper Warner controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

West Holmes' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Orrville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Looking ahead, West Holmes will be playing in front of their home fans against Madison Comprehensive at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orrville, they will take on Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
