Basketball Recap: West Holt Wins Going Away Against O'neill

West Holt hadn't done well against O'Neill recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The West Holt Huskies were the clear victor by a 64-43 margin over the O'Neill Eagles. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 21 points or more this season.

Zach Hooey was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 13 on his way to 25 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Konrad, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

West Holt was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as O'Neill only racked up 14 assists.

O'Neill lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Braxen Eichelberger, who posted 11 points. Caleb Laursen was another key player, putting up nine points.

West Holt is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for O'Neill, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8.

West Holt didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-44 win against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge on the 4th. As for O'Neill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 66-52 loss against Cedar Catholic on the 4th.
