Softball Game Preview: Chapel Hill Red Devils vs. Harmony Eagles

The Chapel Hill Red Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Harmony Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chapel Hill is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Chapel Hill came up short against New Diana on Tuesday, falling 15-4. That's two games in a row now that the Red Devils have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Aubree Norfleet was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Molly Brady was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Norfleet wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Chapel Hill lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.

Harmony never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Daingerfield last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Harmony's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7-1. As for Chapel Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Chapel Hill came up short against Harmony in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 12-9. Can Chapel Hill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
