Basketball Recap: Porter Ridge Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Porter Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Sun Valley Spartans by a score of 57-44 on Friday. For the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 52-46 victory the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Sun Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Thanasi Papazis, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Another player making a difference was TJ Pinckney, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds.

Porter Ridge's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-14. As for Sun Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Porter Ridge has already played their next match, a 74-54 defeat against Marvin Ridge on the 28th. As for Sun Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-41 loss against Cuthbertson on the 28th.
