Basketball Recap: Kalitri Hubbard's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Genesee over Deary

Genesee easily dispatched Highland last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Genesee Bulldogs fell just short of the Deary Mustangs by a score of 44-41 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since February 7, 2024.

Genesee lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kalitri Hubbard, who went 7 for 15 en route to 17 points. Those 17 points gave Hubbard a new career-high. Vince Crowley was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Genesee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Genesee has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Deary, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Genesee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-64 defeat against St. John Bosco Academy on the 23rd. Deary has also already played their next contest (against Troy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
