Basketball Recap: Joseph Zhang and Aiden Kwak Secure Win for Apostles Lutheran

Apostles Lutheran barely beat East Palo Alto Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 50-29 margin over the Bulldogs on Friday. The Falcons not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since January 29th (when they won 56-30).

Leading Apostles Lutheran to victory were Aiden Kwak and Joseph Zhang. Kwak dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 boards, while Zhang posted 17 points and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Kwak a new career-high in steals (seven). Tommy Ly was another key player, putting up nine points along with five assists and four steals.

Apostles Lutheran now has a winning record of 2-1. As for East Palo Alto Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Apostles Lutheran and Granada Islamic School will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for East Palo Alto Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against KIPP Esperanza at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
