Baseball Recap: Salmon Savages vs. Soda Springs Cardinals
Salmon won the last time they faced Soda Springs and things went their way on Saturday too. Salmon blew past Soda Springs 17-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Savages.

Wyatt Pilkerton made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Gauge Stephenson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Hunter Anderson was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.
Salmon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Soda Springs only posted an OBP of .167.
Salmon's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Soda Springs, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
