After losing to East Moline United the last time they met, Rock Island decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rocks walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Panthers on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rocks.
Maddie Carroll was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, A'Rion Lonergan was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mallory Hudnall, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
