After losing to East Moline United the last time they met, Rock Island decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rocks walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Panthers on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rocks.

Maddie Carroll was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, A'Rion Lonergan was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mallory Hudnall, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Rock Island hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.

Rock Island's record now sits at 6-3. As for East Moline United, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Rock Island wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-7 loss against Hononegah on the 12th. As for East Moline United, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Washington on the 12th.
