Basketball Recap: Buford Yellowjackets vs. Central Eagles
The Buford Yellowjackets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 51-43 win over Central. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Buford as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Jordyn Griffin, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Griffin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kabreyia Covington, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Buford's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12. As for Central, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 13 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.
Buford will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. As for Central, they will head out on the road to take on the Volunteers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Andrew Jackson's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten contests.
