Football Recap: Hazelwood Central Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Hazelwood Central's offense. They took a blow against the Lafayette Lancers on Friday, falling 49-0. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Lancers are ranked 34th).

Hazelwood Central's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lafayette, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hazelwood Central will challenge rival Eureka at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lafayette is set to square off against their familiar foe Kirkwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
