Cartersville put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 48-24 margin over the Allatoona Buccaneers. Given the Hurricanes' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 179th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Nate Russell, who threw for 380 yards and four TDs while completing 81.2% of his passes. What's more, he racked up 161.5 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August. Brady Marchese also helped out as he racked up 146 receiving yards.

Cartersville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 209 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Cartersville's record is now 8-0. As for Allatoona, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cartersville will welcome Cedartown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hurricanes are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Allatoona, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hiram at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers will need to watch out since the Hornets have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
