Basketball Recap: Choctawhatchee Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Choctawhatchee waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 55-51 W against the Bay Tornadoes. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Choctawhatchee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Blaze Childers-Menser, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 19 points. Another player making a difference was Michael Collins, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards.

Choctawhatchee was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bay only racked up six.

Bay's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddox Memmen, who shot 50% from the field en route to 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Amare Burgess was another key player, going 5-for-10 on his way to 10 points along with five boards and five steals.

Choctawhatchee now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Bay, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Choctawhatchee will challenge Booker T. Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.13 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Bay, they have already played their next game, a 51-32 win against South Walton on the 6th.
