Downtown Magnets had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Middle College Cougars 14-5 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Suns, who have now won eight matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Downtown Magnets has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.6 runs over those games. As for Middle College, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Downtown Magnets will face off against University at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Suns' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. Middle College does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
