Preview: Wayne Valley Indians vs. West Morris Mendham Minutemen
The Wayne Valley Indians's road trip will continue as they head out to face the West Morris Mendham Minutemen at 1:00 p.m. on December 29th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Wayne Valley pushed their score all the way to 58 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to West Morris Central 64-58.
Despite the defeat, Wayne Valley got a solid performance out of Anthony Apicella, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Apicella posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Omar Ali, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but West Morris Mendham had to settle for a 41-38 loss against Madison on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points West Morris Mendham has scored all season.
Wayne Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for West Morris Mendham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
Wayne Valley came up short against West Morris Mendham in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 50-41. Can Wayne Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
