Basketball Recap: DSST: Cedar Piles Up the Points Against DMLK

DSST: Cedar waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 50-22 win over the DMLK Panthers. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 28 points or more this season.

DSST: Cedar got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Amaya Paul out in front who went 7 for 15 en route to 22 points. Those 22 points gave Paul a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Raniya Paul, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and five steals.

DSST: Cedar was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the defeat, DMLK saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tay Hugley earned ten points.

DSST: Cedar is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.4 points per game. As for DMLK, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

DSST: Cedar didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 40-38 win against Kennedy on the 6th. DMLK has also already played their next contest, a 41-14 loss against DSST: Montview on the 6th.
