Basketball Recap: East Mecklenburg's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Charlotte Catholic, East Mecklenburg was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They secured a 56-52 W over the Providence Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

East Mecklenburg's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ahmari Hicks, who went 7 of 14 en route to 22 points. The game was Hicks' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Buzzard, who posted eight points and nine boards.

With the victory, East Mecklenburg broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-7. As for Providence, their record now sits at 4-13.

East Mecklenburg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-49 win against Cox Mill on the 18th. Providence has also already played their next contest (against Westover), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
