The Tri-West Hendricks Bruins will face off against the Indian Creek Braves at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Tri-West Hendricks is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Indian Creek will be up against a hot Tri-West Hendricks squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Bruins walked away with a 10-6 victory over Triton Central on Friday.
Luke Haboush looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Tri-West Hendricks let Ethan Frye and Graham Willhelm run wild. Frye went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Willhelm went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Willhelm a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Gibson, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Indian Creek got themselves on the board against West Vigo on Wednesday, but West Vigo never followed suit. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Vikings.
Not much got past Nick Winters, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep West Vigo off the board.
At the plate, Indian Creek saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Talan Steinway, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
Indian Creek has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tri-West Hendricks, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Tri-West Hendricks has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Indian Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Tri-West Hendricks suffered a grim 18-10 defeat to Indian Creek in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Bruins have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
