Biddeford and Thornton Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Tigers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Biddeford nor Thornton Academy posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Biddeford is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They fell just short of Windham by a score of 3-1 on Monday.

Biddeford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mariah Villandry, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Thornton Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 10-0 to Cheverus on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the Trojans' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Biddeford came out on top in a nail-biter against Thornton Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 11-10. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
