Basketball Recap: North Olmsted Comes Up Short

North Olmsted lost against Rocky River back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The North Olmsted Eagles fell just short of the Rocky River Pirates by a score of 59-56. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Rocky River's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Radcliffe, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. Radcliffe's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Brandon Nazette was another key player, going 6 of 8 on his way to 15 points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for North Olmsted and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for Rocky River, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.

North Olmsted will square off against Perkins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Perkins knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully North Olmsted likes a good challenge. As for Rocky River, they will face off against Fairview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Fairview has won four straight at home, while Rocky River won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
