Softball Recap: Newton Comes Up Short

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 8-5 to the Pollok Central Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-1 back in March.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Pollok Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Newton is set to face off against their familiar foe Huntington at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pollok Central will take on rival Diboll at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
