Braden River and Fort Myers squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Braden River had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Green Wave by a score of 2-1. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Denzel Diaz was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Braden River saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Sands, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Braden River's defeat dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Fort Myers, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-10.
