There's no place like home for Hobart, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Kankakee Valley Kougars 1-0. The win continues a trend for the Brickies in their matchups with the Kougars: they've now won six in a row.

Connor Stafford was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over 7.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

The victory got Hobart back to even at 7-7. As for Kankakee Valley, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-5-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hobart beat the Kougars by a score of 6-3 on Tuesday.
