Volleyball Recap: Kingman Academy Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Kingman Academy faced off against North Valley Christian Academy on Wednesday. The Tigers fell 3-1 to the Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Kingman Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-12.

Sofia Bower paced Kingman Academy's offense, picking up 16 kills. Bower got some help from Rylie Brisco and her 13 assists. Taylee Mote controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Mackenzie Benso was a one-woman wrecking crew For North Valley Christian Academy. as she had 22 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Benso has posted since back in September.

Kingman Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for North Valley Christian Academy, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-7.

Kingman Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Red Rock on the 28th. As for North Valley Christian Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Tempe Prep on the 24th.
