Baseball Recap: Sylva Bay Academy Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Rankin Academy, Sylva Bay Academy was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Perry Central Bulldogs. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Parker Webb spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits.

On the hitting side, Micah Odom was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Sylva Bay Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Perry Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sylva Bay Academy will venture away from home to face off against Hattiesburg HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Perry Central, they are taking a road trip to challenge East Marion at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
