Basketball Recap: Northside Beats North Central for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Northside waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They took down the North Central Hurricanes 74-58. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hurricanes, too.

Despite the defeat, North Central had strong showings from Malachi Joseph, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Rondrakus Jimmerson, who posted 19 points and four steals. Joseph has become a key player for the Hurricanes: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least eight boards, but 0-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Amarion Edwards, who put up eight points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.

Northside's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for North Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Northside will venture away from home to take on Eunice at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Central and Oakdale will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
