Baseball Recap: Warren Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

Warren took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Searcy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Warren sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Searcy on Thursday. For the Lumberjacks, this counts as revenge for the 14-3 win the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Warren's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Spears, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Spears a new career-high. Hayden Cathey was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Warren's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Searcy, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Warren will venture away from home to take on Batesville at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Searcy, they will head out to face off against Gosnell at 11:15 a.m. on Friday. Gosnell will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Searcy surely won't give up without a fight.
