Basketball Preview: Pisgah Dragons vs. Stringer Red Devils
The Pisgah Dragons are on the road again on Tuesday to play the Stringer Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Pisgah focused on turnovers this week as the team gave up 28 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Pisgah ended up a good deal behind Cathedral and lost 41-23.
Despite the loss, Pisgah saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zane Smith scored ten points. What's more, Smith also posted a 40% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in November of 2023.
Meanwhile, Stringer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 58-42 to Sylva Bay Academy.
Stringer's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pisgah, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Pisgah beat Stringer 56-47 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Will Pisgah repeat their success, or does Stringer have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
