With a playoff win on the line, Boardman rose to the challenge on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Louisville Leopards, sneaking past 3-1. The win was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Tori Strines made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Strines wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ava Freeborough, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Boardman's victory bumped their record up to 25-4. As for Louisville, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-15-1.
As of now, neither Boardman nor the Leopards have any future games scheduled.
