Basketball Recap: Mount Dora's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Eustis, Mount Dora was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 43-35 victory over the South Sumter Raiders. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hurricanes as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Mount Dora was led to victory by Taejah Bosch and Isabella Abner. Bosch posted 14 points, while Abner had ten points. Teegan Scott was another key player, putting up five points.

Mount Dora's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8. As for South Sumter, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-11.

Mount Dora and South Sumter could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Mount Dora (ranked 561st) will meet Umatilla (ranked 230th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, South Sumter (ranked 553rd) will meet Weeki Wachee (ranked 231st) at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
