Basketball Recap: Tumwater Skates Past Capital with Ease

Tumwater put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by the Capital Cougars to the tune of 69-39. Fans of the Thunderbirds have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Tumwater's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sahara Anthony III, who went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points and six assists. That's the most assists Anthony III has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Bryce Morgan, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Tumwater's record is now 3-0. As for Capital, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Tumwater will be taking part in a tournament against Montesano at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Capital, they will venture away from home to face off against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th. Washington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Capital likes a good challenge.
