Baseball Recap: Deep Run Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Deep Run ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Freeman Mavericks, sneaking past 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Mavericks back in April, they had to take a 5-3 loss.

Parker Noonan spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Vince Porcaro was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Skowycz, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Deep Run's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-7. As for Freeman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.

Looking ahead, Deep Run will venture away from home to challenge Glen Allen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Freeman, they will square off against Godwin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
