Softball Recap: Pacifica Wins Going Away Against Santa Barbara

Pacifica barely beat Santa Barbara the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tritons were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Dons on Tuesday. The Tritons not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 22nd (when they won 14-4).

Jordyn Hernandez looked comfortable as she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Pacifica got a massive performance out of Aubrey Colvin, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Colvin has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Denise Gutierrez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Pacifica's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-11 and their overall record up to 6-13. As for Santa Barbara, they dropped their record down to 6-19 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home.

Pacifica will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
