Soccer Game Preview: Shadow Ridge vs. Brophy College Prep

The Shadow Ridge Stallions will head out to take on the Brophy College Prep Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Shadow Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season.

Shadow Ridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Desert Vista, who was ranked 12th at the time (Shadow Ridge was ranked second). The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw on Monday.

Alejandro Avelar and Jacob Engwall scored both of Shadow Ridge's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Meanwhile, Brophy College Prep's game on Wednesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Boulder Creek by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that the Broncos have lost by just one goal.

Shadow Ridge's draw makes their record 5-1-2 this season. As for Brophy College Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2-1.
