Basketball Game Preview: Paxton Bobcats vs. Jay Royals + How To Watch

Paxton hasn't had much luck against Jay recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bobcats will head out on the road to take on the Royals at 5:30 p.m. Paxton will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

On Monday, Paxton got the win against Pensacola Christian Academy by a conclusive 49-23. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bobcats had established a 20-point advantage.

Kenzie Lassiter and Marley McClelland were among the main playmakers for Paxton as the former went 5-for-10 en route to 13 points and four steals and the latter posted ten points and seven boards. Thanks to that strong game, Lassiter now owns an excellent 45.5% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Kenna Cook, who earned six points.

Paxton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Jay didn't have too much breathing room in their game against L.E.A.D. Academy on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 56-50 win. The victory continues a trend for the Royals in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won five in a row.

Paxton's record is now 4-0. As for Jay, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Things could have been worse for Paxton, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-45 loss to Jay in their previous meeting back in February. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Royals' Presley Hawthorne, who scored 22 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.
