Basketball Recap: Carencro Comes Up Short

Carencro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Thomas More Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Cougars are ranked 55th).

Katecamille Tatman had a dynamite game for St. Thomas More, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Ava Roger, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Carencro's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for St. Thomas More, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carencro won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Northside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Thomas More, they will take on Archbishop Hannan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
