Basketball Game Preview: Sanger Indians vs. Aubrey Chaparrals

The Sanger Indians will head out to challenge the Aubrey Chaparrals at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sanger is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

If Sanger beats Aubrey with 44 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Sanger managed a 44-40 win over Van Alstyne on Friday. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Panthers are ranked 543rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Aubrey beat Gainesville 31-27 on Friday.

Sanger has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. As for Aubrey, their victory bumped their record up to 6-17.

Everything went Sanger's way against Aubrey in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as Sanger made off with a 53-27 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sanger since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
