Baseball Game Preview: Fort Dodge Dodgers vs. Mason City Mohawks

The Fort Dodge Dodgers will face off against the Mason City Mohawks on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Fort Dodge barely beat Webster City the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Dodgers were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Lynx on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Dodgers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, Mason City's hitters rose to the challenge against a Bulldogs pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.7 runs allowed on Tuesday. The Mohawks put the hurt on Algona with a sharp 11-1 victory.

Mason City is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Fort Dodge, their victory bumped their record up to 25-13.

Fort Dodge took their win against Mason City in their previous meeting back in June by a conclusive 7-1 score. Do the Dodgers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mohawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
