Football Recap: Sargent Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Sargent had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it eight. They had to suffer through a 51-0 loss at the hands of the Dolores Bears. The Farmers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

As for Dolores, their win bumped their record up to 4-1. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won four games by 28 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dolores to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Rantz, who picked up 125 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 38 yards and one score. Rantz showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 60 yards. River Wickstrom was another key passer, throwing for 104 yards and a pair of TDs.

Sargent wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 57-6 defeat against Sanford on the 11th. As for Dolores, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Dove Creek at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th. The Bears will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
