Basketball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Bridge City

Bridge City won the last time they faced Vidor, and Aubrey Small did her part to make sure it happened again. The Bridge City Cardinals blew past the Vidor Pirates 77-20 on Friday thanks in part to Small, who went 8 for 11 on her way to 23 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Rylee Hebert, who posted nine points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.

Bridge City's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 29.4% in those games and 25% outside of them. As for Vidor, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Bridge City will head out on the road to square off against Lumberton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bridge City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.1 points per game this season. Vidor has already played their next match (against Jasper), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
