Basketball Preview: Heritage Christian Academy Eagles vs. Alleluia Community
The Heritage Christian Academy Eagles will head out on the road to challenge Alleluia Community at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Heritage Christian Academy can finally bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-45 victory over Southside Christian. The win was just what Heritage Christian Academy needed coming off of a 60-15 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Alleluia Community beat the Patriots 51-45 on Friday. The victory was just what Alleluia Community needed coming off of a 69-30 defeat in their prior matchup.
Alleluia Community's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alley McBride, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Lucy Krementz, who scored 17 points.
Heritage Christian Academy's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-11. As for Alleluia Community, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
Heritage Christian Academy was taken down by the 60-15 in their previous meeting last Friday. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Heritage Christian Academy was down 34-8.
