Basketball Recap: Wheaton Academy Comes Up Short

Wheaton Academy lost against Kaneland back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wheaton Academy Warriors came up short against the Kaneland Knights, falling 70-44. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Knights are ranked 88th).

Wheaton Academy's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-10. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Kaneland, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheaton Academy will square off against Boylan Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kaneland, they will take on Bartlett at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
