Preview: Liberty Chargers vs. Celebration Storm
Liberty has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Celebration Storm at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Liberty focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Liberty's game was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Haines City by a score of 56-54. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Liberty in their matchups with Haines City: they've now lost three in a row.
Liberty's defeat came about despite a quality game from Lamar Lee, who scored 21 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 steals. Lee is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Lawrence Kelley was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Even though they lost, Liberty were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Haines City only pulled down nine.
Meanwhile, everything went Celebration's way against Tenoroc on Friday as Celebration made off with a 73-47 win.
Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Celebration, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Liberty might still be hurting after the 72-48 defeat they got from Celebration in their previous matchup back in January. Can Liberty avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
